Join Basic Certified DIRFloortime-trained Occupational Therapist Brian Woodbury for a three-week interactive course where you'll learn practical, play-based strategies to support your child's emotional development while building community with other parents doing the same work.
Course Details
When: Fridays, October 9, 16 & 23 · 7:30–8:30 PM
Where: Columbia Pediatric Therapy Vancouver Clinic
Cost: $90 for one caregiver, $135 for two caregivers from the same household
Space: Limited to 15 participants
This course is for caregivers. Children do not attend.
Is This Course Right for You?
Any parent or caregiver who wants to feel more confident connecting with their child through play. You don't need a diagnosis, a referral, or any prior experience with DIRFloortime, and you don't need to be a current Columbia Pediatric Therapy family.
Guiding a child toward emotional health is some of the most important work a parent does. Through play, children develop the skills they need for regulation, curiosity and exploration, social engagement, and complex problem solving. This course is about making that work feel a little more doable.
What You'll Learn
Week 1 — What's actually happening during play Why play matters developmentally, what your child is working on when they play, and how to notice it.
Week 2 — Matching play to your child's developmental level Play strategies across developmental levels, and practical ways to meet your child where they are.
Week 3 — Putting it into practice Hands-on practice, working through real moments from your own home, and building a plan you'll actually use.
